I tried Kylie Cosmetics - Eyeshadow

6 February 2019

The hype around Kylie Cosmetics has never died since Kylie Jenner launched her makeup brand back in 2015. I finally got round to trying out some of the products and have been using them for the last 4 months. I am going to be writing a few of these 'I tried Kylie Cosmetics' posts, as there is no way I can fit eyes, lips and highlighter all in one! So, let's start with eyeshadow...

I have been using 2 of the eyeshadow palettes from Kylie Cosmetics. The first one I got was the Birthday 2018 Palette. It consists of a range of 21 metallic, satin and matte pressed powder shadows. Most of the palette is made up of warm browns, pinks and nudes (which is perfect for me) and then there is a bright electric blue, a matte black and metallic gunmetal silver.

I honestly LOVE using this palette as you can create lots of different looks. This is the palette I would take on a trip away as you basically have every colour you need if you love your pink and warm brown eyeshadow looks, but also want something dramatic for a night time.

My favourite shades:
Pretty (matte neon pink) - OMG. Now this is a look
Mimosa (matte maroon) - perfect for the outer corner to make your eyes more dramatic
21+ (metallic rose pink) - I hit pan on this one pretty quickly... So that says a lot
Tequila Tangerine (matte pale peach/orange) - this one is perfect as a transition shade and also for a simple everyday look
Sangria - (matte mahogany brown) - this one has gorgeous red tones
Sex On the Beach (metallic golden/copper brown) - this goes amazing with Sangria and Mimosa

The second Kylie palette I have is the Burgundy Extended palette. This is one of the most perfect palettes I've ever found to suit my obsession with pink/brown eyeshadow. It's just full of shimmer and pink - ahhh it's amazing

I got this palette for Christmas and I have been using it non-stop for a month now. Personally, I think this is the perfect selection of shades for if you have brown eyes. All of the shades blend well together and you can create a range of looks from pale and glittery pink, to a more peachy/rose gold shimmer, to deep purple and burgundy.

My favourite shades:
Ladybug (matte dusty maroon) - a lovely shade to wear on its own
Burgundy (matte bright red burgundy) - this might be my favourite of the whole palette
Dirty wine (metallic rose gold) - this one goes so well with Ladybug and Burgundy (I often wear these 3 together)
Penny - (matte light red/orange) - subtle and blends well
Bordeaux (matte deep burgundy) - this one is very dramatic and perfect for a night time

So, my verdict on these Kylie Cosmetics palettes is that the colour selection in them is so impressive. The shadows are very pigmented and easy to blend. The mattes and satins are soft and go on smoothly, while the metallic shades are just SO shimmery and really stand out on your eyes.
I need to invest in more already! The Valentine Collection palette has definitely caught my eye...

Dolly Beautique Lashes

10 May 2018

So, It has been a little quiet over here on GeorgiaMayBeauty for a while. I can happily say that I have FINALLY finished my first year of university. I took a little time away from blogging while I was drowning in assignments and revising for my exam and now I am soooo ready for 4 months of summer.

Now, let's get to the lashes.

The lovely people over at Dolly Beautique were kind enough to send me some of their gorgeous lashes to try. And I am in LOVE.

I received the 'Dolly Loves' collection. The lashes came in this cute box which opens like a little book. Inside are 3 pairs of lashes and a rose gold lash applicator. The writing is all embossed in metallic rose gold and all I can say is that the presentation and the packaging is just unreal.

The lashes that I was immediately drawn to were the Amber lashes. They are so wispy and curly, which is definitely what I look for in a pair of lashes. Here are some pictures of what the Amber lashes look like on...

The Sienna lashes are also sooo dramatic due to the winged out outer corner. They go perfectly with some winged eyeliner for a night out.

The Olivia lashes are the most natural lashes in the collection. I wear these for an everyday casual look with no eyeshadow or eyeliner. They are so fluttery and pretty and are perfect for when you want your eyes to stand out while wearing minimal makeup.

All the lashes are so easy to apply with the lash applicator which is provided in the 'Dolly Loves' collection. I have never used a lash applicator before, I have always just used tweezers. This applicator makes it so much easier as it has a better grip of the lashes and you have much more control when making sure they stick in the right position.

I also love how well these lashes have lasted. I have used the Amber lashes about 5-7 times now and they have stayed in really good condition. As long as you remove the glue from the lashes when you take them off and dab them gently with a damp cloth to clean them then you will definitely get a lot of use out of them!

I would 100% recommend Dolly Beautique lashes as I don't think it is possible for anyone to be disappointed with them! They are easy to apply and wear, long lasting and they are so beautifully designed.

All pairs of lashes in the 'Dolly Loves' collection are available to buy separately for £9.99. You can also purchase the lash applicator separately for £3. The 'Dolly Loves' collection is £22 which means you make a saving of £10.97! You also get free standard UK delivery on all orders over £15.

Dolly Beautique are also releasing a line of face and body jewels which are coming VERY soon for festival season and I'm sooo excited! Watch this space!

February Favourites

27 February 2018

Considering February is a short month it felt exactly the same as January because it DRAGGED SO MUCH. As the month of love comes to an end, hopefully (fingers crossed) March brings us some much-needed spring sunshine.

So, here is another monthly favourites post! This one is all beauty as it turns out.

Charlotte Tilbury - The Perfect Nude Kiss
It would be a big fat lie if I told you I had worn anything else on my lips this month apart from this CT combination. I am utterly obsessed with it and it makes me so happy because after all these years of trying to find my perfect nude lip I have finally found it!

The set comes with full sizes of Lip Cheat Liner in Iconic Nude, K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Penelope Pink and Lip Lustre Lipgloss in Seduction. All together the set is £52.

The Perfect Nude Kiss gift set was one of my Christmas presents from my lovely boyfriend (Thanks, G) and during January I was wearing them quite a lot but I feel like this month was the month I truly fell in love with these 3 lip products.

Hats off to Charlotte Tilbury, they have got the shade of the Iconic Nude Lip Cheat liner absolutely spot on. It has a slight nude tone as it was designed to blend in with the colour of your lips. This makes it perfect for slightly overlining your lips to make them look a little fuller.

The Penelope Pink K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick is so moisturising and makes your lips feel like they have been plumped up. It is a nude lipstick with subtle pink undertones, it is a lovely everyday colour which also works well with dramatic eye makeup for a night time. I can tell that this lipstick shade is going to be gorgeous for all year round.

Now I have never been much of a lip gloss gal but this one has made me completely change my mind. The Lip Lustre Lip Gloss in Seduction is honestly life-changing. It works so well with the other lip products to create the illusion of fuller and plumper lips. Like seriously, no joke, my Grandma asked me if I had lip fillers (I wish). The texture is so creamy and soft, it goes on your lips like a dream. The texture isn't sticky at all and the colour payoff is amazing.

Doll Beauty - Frankie Lashes
A Doll Beauty stand appeared in the Newcastle TopShop last month and I just had to try out a few as I have heard so many good things about them. I picked up 3 different Brazilian Faux Mink lashes for £20 and then got 10% student discount, so it was quite a good deal!

My favourite of the 3 styles that I have tried is definitely Frankie. These lashes are so full and fluttery. They are super long and really make your eyes stand out. I also love how strong these lashes are, it is so easy to peel the glue off the strip without feeling like you are going to rip the hairs out. On the box, it says they are reusable up to 20 times! I have worn them about 5 times now and they are still in immaculate condition.

So, if you are looking to try out some new luxury lashes I would definitely recommend Doll Beauty. They have a huge selection of styles to choose from!

Charlotte Tilbury - Supermodel Body
Wow, shock another CT product! This month I have been trying out the Supermodel Body shimmer cream. It claims to be a 'slimming body shimmer', I mean I don't know how much slimmer I actually look when I wear this but, OMG I just love the shimmer part. I have been putting this on my legs and my collar bones for nights out and it is just sooo dreamy. It gives your skin a glossy finish and just all round makes you feel that extra bit more glam.

Liz Earle - Deep Cleansing Mask
It isn't a secret that Liz Earle is up there with my favourite skincare brands. I have been loving this Deep Cleansing mask lately so I just had to share. This mask is a green clay mask which aims to reduce oiliness and purify the skin. It is great for combination/oily skin (aka me). I find that this mask leaves my skin feeling extra clean and refreshed after a day of wearing makeup.

You leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes and you can feel it setting as it tingles slightly. You then just wipe away with a wet flannel or sponge. Easy peasy.

It is the perfect mid-week, pick me up. It balances out all the oily grossness in my skin and removes impurities to leave me feeling fresh as a daisy.

Zoella Beauty - Snowella body mist
I got this body mist by Zoella Beauty in my stocking this Christmas and I have been using it more or less every day since. It is the perfect daytime fragrance as it is light and refreshing. It has notes of peony, mint and pink pepper.

I have literally just been spraying it everywhere just as I am about to leave the house. It smells sooo good on top of Marc Jacobs Daisy Kiss perfume. I have been wearing this combination throughout the last few weeks of February as it smells a little more like spring.

I also absolutely love the bottle, the design is so cute! It is pretty enough to sit next to my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream on my dressing table, as it matches the rose gold theme I have going on in my room!

As the Snowella body mist is from the 2017 Christmas range I am praying that it doesn't get discontinued. You can still buy it individually on Feel Unique. However, you can only buy it in gift sets on the superdrug website. I am defintiely going to have to stock up on this one!

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Foundation Review

12 February 2018

Since October I have been completely and utterly obsessed with the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Foundation. I mentioned it back in my November favourites but I still feel like this foundation needs its own post.

I am now onto my fourth bottle of this stuff and I can't get enough of it. Usually, I switch between foundations every few months as I get bored and want to try something new, or I decide to go back to an old favourite. But, I am still in love with this one and using it religiously.

I used to swap between the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk and the Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation. I can still say, hand on heart, that these are some of the best foundations out there and I would always recommend them. However, there are a few things about the Fenty Beauty foundation that make me just a bit more in love with it than the others. So, I have come up with a lil list of things that make this foundation a must have.

Long-wearing
I think this is one of the most important aspects about a foundation. No one wants their foundation to slide across their face during the day. I don't use a primer with this foundation and still, it stays put all day/night. I think this is due to its matte formula, as it looks exactly the same when I get home as it did when I left the house. This is a godsend as there is no worry throughout the day that my foundation has gone shiny or patchy.

Formula
I am so impressed with the formula of this foundation. It applies like a dream. It is the perfect consistency to give your skin that smooth, no shine finish. The formula is oil-free, which is perfect for me because my skin can get a bit oily in the t-zone. Even though it is a matte foundation it is one of the lightest formula's I have tried. It doesn't feel heavy or cakey on the skin at all! This is so important as a cakey formula can put me off a foundation straight away, there is literally nothing worse.

Price
As I mentioned earlier, my holy grail foundations were the Giorgio Armani Luminous silk one and the Charlotte Tilbury magic foundation. Both of these foundations have quite a hefty price tag, especially the Giorgio Armani one which left a £42 shaped hole in my purse every time I needed to restock (I may be wrong but I'm SURE it cost £36 when I first started using it a few years ago?). The Fenty Beauty foundation costs £26. Yep, £26. It is still more expensive than a drugstore foundation but oh my god, it is MUCH cheaper than most high-end end foundations! So, it kills my bank account a little less when I need to repurchase.

I literally cannot recommend this foundation enough. There are 40 shades to choose from, therefore there is a shade for everyone. If you haven't already tried this foundation, and you are looking for something that is light, medium-full coverage and extremely long-wearing then you definitely need to give this foundation a try.  As I said back in my November Favourites post, this foundation makes my skin look exactly how I want it to look, and that is the best way I can describe it.
